Dear God, I don't know what you're doing....

Suddenly, almost without any warning, I had to prepare for departure from Yeongcheon.     On day, my boss walked into my classroom and asked, "Didn't they tell you?"

     "Tell me what?" I asked.

"We're closing the school at the end of the month."

The "end of the month" was two weeks away.  From what they said they were out of money, and I could believe it.  They did not pay me for my last month and half of work (If I had resigned without a notice, I would not have been able to get a new job.).  Also, they were unable to pay me the three years worth of severance pay they agreed to pay from the start.  They were not able to reimburse me for the deposit money that I paid down for my new apartment.  Did they file bankruptcy, I never found out, and I decided to just move on.

A company manager, who I had met shortly after I first arrived to work in Yeongcheon, was able to locate a new job for me.  He even drove me to the new location for an interview and drove me back home.  I moved at the end of February, 2012.

The new immigration rules, along with my sentimental feelings about leaving Yeongcheon, are what gave me a headache.  It was an emotional time!

From start to finish, it took about eight weeks, thanks to help from my sister in the USA, to get all my immigration stuff settled.  Word has it that I should not have to do all that again.  I sure hope not.

Very kindly, my new boss in Gumi and some of her friends helped me move from Yeongcheon to Gumi and get settled in.

Yeongcheon had been as heavenly a place as I knew while I was there.

"God, I don't know what you're doing.  I rarely ever know, but it's all okay with me.  Do what you will, and help me gain wisdom as needed."
