It looks like this town and I are going to
get aLONG juuuuuust fine!
The meal above is called Sam-gyup-sahl. As far as I know, you can't get it if you are alone. The set price begins with two people.
Yes, that is ice in the soup. The cold soups are wonderful.
Sometimes, this is all I want with my morning coffee!
Back in Yeongcheon, there were only two city bus routes. Bus 1 and Bus 2.
Those days are behind me. Gotta move forward.
SAUCE, SAUCE, SAUCE! That's cheese sauce on those fries. That cheese SAUCE in the burger.
Here's motivation to learn a little more Korean!
"Donggus" Say it that way, and they'll know what you want. It's battered and fried pork cutlet covered with sweet and sour brown sauce and served with rice, slaw, and side dishes (usually clear broth soup, kimchi, and radish slices. Just about every restaurant where I've ordered it has served it this way. I've paid as little as 4500 wons and as much as 8000 wons depending on the location of the restaurant. I've been told it's really a Japanese meal. Whatever! It's one of my favorite!
Some of the bus stops (like the one above) feature bus route information in English. Many of them have a computer screen that let's you know the arrival time of the buses on the way to that stop. I have an application on my iPhone that let's me see information too, but it's all in Korean so I can't read it fast.
My boss brought a plate full of these into the office. I don't know they are called, but I do know they have a sweet taste and it only takes a few of them to make me feel full.
The meal above cost about 6000 wons at E-mart. I'm NOT kidding! It's only one meal for one person. I'm not kidding! Of course, no one will stop you from sharing.
As you can guess, by the picture below, I was sharing some meal time with someone. Guess which set of food was mine! By the way, that omlet was full of rice.
