My boss loaned me a bicycle

My boss loaned me a bicycle (for as long as I work for the school).  While I was out riding around, I found another gym.  No one was at the clerks counter, so I made a snapshot of their price schedule.  This gym charges 50,000 wons less for three months membership than the gym I was currently using.  This gym was a little further away, but I knew I could live with that, but I had another month left on my current membership.

Right across the street from the new fitness center is a coffee shop that has the best chocolate cheese cake I've ever had in South Korea!  It's expensive, about 5000 wons (good for sharing).  The coffee was delicious.

When I write Korean words in English letter I try to spell them the way I hear them pronounced, which is not always the way they are romanticized.  The soup pictured above is called Salangtang (the "a" in each syllable sound like "ah."  Basically, it's a white broth (made from ox/beef bones) with thin slices of ox/beef, some vegetables, and noodles.  Usually, it is served bubbling hot, and the noodles are on the side.  Season to taste at the table.  Usually, I add rice to it.  About 5000 wons covers it.

I don't like everything they serve at Paris Baguette, but the food is made fresh, and the sandwich and salad plate pictured above were pretty good.  The chicken was coated with dressing already, so I had no need for the plastic container of dressing on the side, which is included in the price.  Usually, I give the dressing back to them after convincing them that I don't want it.  This Paris Baguette is located across the street from the gym I was using at the time.

I've not intended for my blogs to become a food journal, but what do we do more religiously than eat (besides sleep and go to the bathroom)?  I was still getting to know Gumi, my new home and found many ways to enjoy delicious food.

Remember that coffee shop with the chocolate cheese cake that I just told you about?  I went back one evening to relax, read, and enjoy the coffee and ice cream topped waffle you see in the picture above.  I was disappointed that I could not find an electrical outlet into which to plug my iPhone.  I hate letting the battery run down.

Once upon a time, I saw this rack of short ribs on sale at the supermarket.  That has not happened often!

"Hans Deli" is the name of the restaurant that served me the salad and "Mexican" mix in the dishes below.  To be honest, I was not impressed with the flavors, textures, and ambiance of the restaurant. Now, I know.

Below you can see a fresh made waffle topped with a scoop of strawberry and a scoop of chocolate ice cream.  Pricey!  I won't even tell you how much!  I will tell you the ice cream was WONDERFUL.  The aroma and taste of the waffle was delicious, but I wasn't satisfied with the texture.  I like my waffle a bit on the heavy side.  This one was quite light.  The coffee Americano was excellent and the place was cozy as could be.  It's right across the street from Han's Deli in downtown Gumi.
