In case you didn't know, I have a Youtube channel where I've featured videos about my life in South Korea.
My channel name is mybigbearron.
I found another gym... only a five minute walk away from my home.
Palgongsan is a famous mountain park near Daegu.
That stone carving has been sitting there for about 1600 years. Now remember, there was no electricity back when it was first carved. Also, there were no fancy stairs to climb up to get to the top of this mountain. Bear in mind that a lot of culture - languages, religious practice, customs, clothing, medicines) was already developed when this carving was made. The carving indicates a lot, and this is just ONE carving on ONE mountain in Asia. People, young and old, having been climbing mountains like this to get to stone carvings like this to pay their respects and make prayer petitions for at least as long as this carving has been standing there. Think about that! It didn't all spring up overnight.
Pohang again.
On this particular trip, I rode in school vans that took our students to a school where they could complete a test of their English skills. Once there and once the kids were inside the testing sight, I left the group and spent the rest of the day on my own. I used the sun and a set of railroad tracks as guides for where I would walk.
Just like I did with Busan, one morning after waking up I said, "I'm going to Geongju." No plan, except go, walk around, and don't miss the last train home. I had already learned about some historical things there, so that provided some motivation. After getting there, I found everything I had hoped to see and returned to the train station (all by walking around) within about four hours.
